Transboundary water cooperation is enshrined in the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which seek to increase the scale, ambition, and state of global sustainable development. Goal 6 of the Agenda aims to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.”
