Sustainable Global Goals: How we can make the world a better place by 2030 | Michael Green | TEDGlobal>London

#GlobalGoals #SDGs ==> Can we end hunger and poverty, halt climate change and achieve gender equality in the next 15 years? The governments of the world think we can. Meeting at the UN in September 2015, they agreed to a new set of Global Goals for the development of the world to 2030. Social progress expert Michael Green invites us to imagine how these goals and their vision for a better world can be achieved.

Michael Green is part of the team that has created the Social Progress Index, a standard to rank societies based on how they meet the needs of citizens.

They are using People’s Report Cards to grade each country. On 2017, how is the progress of SDGs measured using the Social Progress Index?

The Global Goals For Sustainable Development

In September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development. If these Goals are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030.Our governments have a plan to save our planet…it’s our job to make sure they stick to it.The Global Goals are only going to work if we fight for them and you can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. We believe the Goals are only going to be completed if we can make them famous.
